I attended Kent State University and received my degree in business administration in the last century. My college education was mostly self-financed. I was able to pay for my time at KSU with the help of the GI bill and two part time jobs while in school as well as full time summer employment.
When I received my degree from Kent State University, I was so proud of myself.
In our family, you were not encouraged or expected to continue your education 
past high school, and I had accomplished my goal through my own hard work, drive
and determination
My sophomore year I was awarded a $300.00 scholarship from an organization in my
home town and I still remember how excited I was to receive that money to
further my education.
In the past several years I have been thinking about establishing a scholarship
fund to help students in need, who have worked hard in school as well as on the
job to put themselves through school. When I learned of the Kent State University Center for Entrepreneurship & Business Innovation, I thought, “this is what it is all about, here is
where I can help”. 
I have a special place in my heart for entrepreneurship, since I live it everyday. I believe that others should be helped to visualize and reach their own goals too.

The intent of the Ray’s Place Entrepreneurship Scholarship is to provide funds to a qualified applicant meeting the following selection criteria:
Full-time, undergraduate junior or senior in the College of Business 
Administration, preferable majoring in Entrepreneurship; meet a set minimum
GPA; be employed for a minimum of 15 hours a week; have a need for financial
assistance.

The scholarship will be awarded each spring to help offset the cost of tuition for the following fall semester.
